Cultureel Erfgoed Noord-Holland (also known as Erfgoedhuis Noord-Holland) was a Dutch heritage organization serving the province of North Holland. The foundation was established on 19 September 2006 following a merger of several heritage bodies, including Stichting Museaal en Historisch Perspectief Noord-Holland and Steunpunt Cultureel Erfgoed Noord-Holland.[1] The organization operated until around 2012, when its functions were absorbed into other provincial heritage structures.

Design and History

The logo for Cultureel Erfgoed Noord-Holland was designed at Edenspiekermann, the Amsterdam-based design agency. The attribution is documented in the portfolio of Marion de Backer, a graphic designer who worked at Edenspiekermann and lists “Logo for Cultural Heritage Noord-Holland (design at Edenspiekermann)” among her projects.[2] The same portfolio also credits her with the organization’s website design, also completed at Edenspiekermann.[2]

The organization’s formation was announced in July 2006, when provincial deputy Rinske Kruisinga signed an intent declaration in Fort Vijfhuizen to create an “Erfgoedhuis” (heritage house) as a central knowledge center and first point of contact for cultural heritage in North Holland.[3] The new foundation was intended to bring together expertise in monument care, archaeology, spatial quality, museums and cultural-historical information under one roof.[3]

While the exact date of the logo’s creation is not independently documented in available sources, the portfolio attribution places it during the period when the organization was active, following its 2006 founding.[1]
