Diseñadores Comerciales is a 1963 logo mark created by Spanish graphic designer Amand Domènech i Casanova (Barcelona, 1920-2002). Domènech was a prolific designer whose work spanned corporate identity, posters, editorial illustration and advertising, and he is recognized as one of the pioneers of graphic design in Spain.[1]

Design and History

Domènech began his career in 1935 at the company Gráfica Manén, where he worked alongside advertising illustrator Carlos Vives, whom he considered his mentor. He opened his own studio in 1948, and over the following decades produced a wide range of graphic identity and corporate work for companies and institutions.[1]

The Diseñadores Comerciales logo, dated 1963, is one of the corporate marks Domènech created during this period. The design is documented in the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona’s Amand Domènech archive, which holds a significant collection of his logo and seal designs along with other graphic products.[1]

Domènech was a founding member of the Agrupació de Grafistes FAD in 1961, serving as its director in 1967, and also helped establish ICOGRADA (the International Council of Graphic Design Associations), where he held the vice presidency in 1985. In 1983 he promoted the creation of the Col·legi de Dissenyadors Gràfics (CODIG).[1]

Meaning and Symbolism

Documented interpretation of the Diseñadores Comerciales mark’s specific symbolism is limited. The logo is presented in Domènech’s archive as a corporate identity piece for a business focused on commercial design, reflecting his broader practice of creating identity graphics for companies and entities.[1]
