Bitpanda is a European investment platform founded in 2014 in Vienna, Austria, that allows individuals to invest in digital and traditional financial assets.[1] The company’s visual identity has undergone two significant transformations since its founding: a rebrand from Coinimal to Bitpanda in 2016, and a major brand overhaul in 2025.
Design and History
Bitpanda’s first logo was introduced in June 2016, when the Austrian bitcoin exchange Coinimal rebranded to Bitpanda. The rebrand brought a new name, a new logo, and a new website design.[2] The company announced the change on its blog, noting that the new logo accompanied changes to the site’s look.[3]
The 2016 mark was registered as a US trademark in December 2018. The trademark description documents a black hexagon in bold lines, with four vertical stripes followed by four dots emerging from the left upper corner of the hexagon, and a similar pattern of four vertical stripes and four dots from the lowest corner. Next to the hexagon, the letters “bitpanda” appear in lowercase.[4] The trademark application was originally filed by Coinimal GmbH, with Bitpanda GmbH becoming the registrant.[5]
In August 2025, Bitpanda underwent a comprehensive brand transformation orchestrated by the agency Brandpulse. The redesign introduced dark green and silver as the primary colors, along with modernized typography, a modernized logo, and dynamic motion design.[6] The new brand identity launched in August 2025, coinciding with Bitpanda’s entry into the UK market.[7]
A second phase of the brand uplift followed in September 2025 with a campaign created by the agency Serviceplan. This campaign introduced a fresh visual identity built around an iconic green space.[8] The campaign built on the August transformation developed with Brandpulse.[9]
Meaning and Symbolism
The 2025 visual identity is centered on an iconic green space, described by the company as a symbol of clarity, control, and possibility in the world of investing.[10] The green color is described as “iconic Bitpanda green” in the company’s own communications.[11]
The 2025 rebrand was part of a strategic shift from a crypto startup image to a global financial player with lifestyle character, according to Bitpanda’s marketing chief Dominik Beier.[6] The transformation aimed at clear premium positioning and high recognizability.[12]
Typography and Design
The 2025 redesign introduced new typography alongside the modernized logo.[7] The design direction uses a sans-serif typeface with cool green tones and silver, according to a design industry report. The same report notes that the logo features an optical twist in the stem of the “B” that creates a distinctive recognition feature.[13]
