Monin is a French family company founded in 1912 in Bourges that produces syrups, fruit preparations, concentrates, sauces and liqueurs for hospitality professionals and consumers.[1] In 2025, the brand underwent a comprehensive visual identity refresh led by the agency Pixelis, which included a new logotype, a new graphic symbol, a revised color palette and a new brand platform.[2]
Design and History
For years, Monin’s identity centered on a calligraphic wordmark, often rendered in black or brown, with the letter “i” sometimes featuring a multicolored swirl.[3] The 2025 rebrand by Pixelis modernized this logotype: the calligraphic typography, emblematic of Monin, was slightly refined to improve legibility while preserving its original style.[4]
The major addition was a new graphic symbol: a stylized drop-shaped monogram used alongside the logotype. It directly references the product itself and enables more immediate brand recognition in reduced formats or contexts where the full logotype is not present.[4] The color palette was also revised, becoming more frank and saturated to reflect the diversity of Monin’s flavors and to improve product legibility in dense competitive environments such as points of sale and digital media.[4]
Pixelis described its work as a global brand overhaul, covering the brand platform, logotype, visual territory, social media, e-commerce site and physical spaces, with the founding idea “La vie est un voyage créatif” (Life is a creative journey).[2] The brand also adopted a new English-language signature, “Sharing our passion for creativity,” reflecting a goal to position Monin as an inspiring brand for bar, restaurant and beverage professionals internationally.[4]
Meaning and Symbolism
The drop-shaped monogram introduced in 2025 makes a direct visual reference to the syrup product itself, serving as a more immediate recognition cue for the brand.[4] The refreshed color palette, more saturated and frank, was chosen to reflect the diversity of flavors Monin offers.[4]
