4chan Logo PNG
Meaning and history
4chan launched in 2003 as an English-language imageboard modeled on Japan’s Futaba Channel. Its logo pairs a green four-leaf clover with the lowercase “4chan” wordmark. Christopher Poole founded the site; in 2015, he announced its sale to Hiroyuki Nishimura, as Business Insider reported.
2003-present
The logo’s clover sits to the left of the wordmark. A Japanese-language account of 4chan describes the clover as resembling the hairstyle of Yotsuba Koiwai, whose name means “four leaves”; the site’s imageboard software is also called Yotsuba. This connects the emblem and the “4” in 4chan to the Yotsuba name, rather than establishing a broader symbolic meaning (Japanese Wikipedia).

The stage image shows the same clover-and-wordmark arrangement as the lead image, rendered on a white background. The emblem is made of four rounded, heart-like leaves with green outlines and lighter interior accents; the wordmark is dark red.
Color and wordmark
The emblem and name use contrasting colors: green for the clover and dark red for the wordmark. The numeral “4” joins directly to the lowercase “chan,” forming one compact wordmark. The logo identifies the site through this simple pairing rather than a separate slogan or additional text.
Current identity
4chan continues to operate at 4chan.org with the clover-and-wordmark identity, according to the site’s Wikipedia entry. No later logo stage is documented in the sources used here.
