Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML), the Bengaluru-based public sector undertaking under India’s Ministry of Defence, unveiled a new brand identity named “Infinix” on February 10, 2025, at the Aero India 2025 event in Bengaluru. The new logo was unveiled by Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff, alongside Shantanu Roy, Chairman and Managing Director of BEML Ltd. [1]
Design and History
BEML Limited (formerly Bharat Earth Movers Limited) was established in May 1964 as a Public Sector Undertaking for the manufacture of rail coaches, spare parts, and mining equipment at its Bangalore Complex. [2] The company’s visual identity underwent a significant transformation in 2025, marking a shift from its previous legacy-driven branding to a new identity called “Infinix.” [3]
The unveiling featured motion graphics that traced BEML’s 60-year evolution in aerospace and defence. [4] According to Shantanu Roy, CMD of BEML, the rebranding marked a transition “from a legacy-driven enterprise to a global force in engineering.” [1]
Meaning and Symbolism
The Infinix logo features a freed Phoenix breaking out of a circular boundary, which the company states symbolizes “limitless aspirations and an unyielding commitment to innovation, agility, and excellence.” [1] Its outstretched wings embody BEML’s pursuit of breakthrough solutions across air, land, and sea. [3]
The name “Infinix” is a fusion of “Infinity” and “Phoenix,” drawing inspiration from aerodynamic precision and reflecting BEML’s expertise in engineering, mobility solutions, and future-ready technologies. [1] Shantanu Roy also noted that the logo is a blend of a phoenix and the infinity symbol, adding that “according to Vastu principles, anything that rises is considered positive, and the phoenix in the logo symbolises upward movement.” [5]
The company described the identity’s “fluid, dynamic form” as representing “power, speed, and a forward-thinking vision that drives BEML to redefine industries.” [1]
