Print Irish is an Irish printing and manufacturing company whose visual identity was developed by the Dublin-based design consultancy Dara Creative. The company operates in the print sector, and its branding was created to reflect its manufacturing focus in Ireland.
Design and History
Dara Creative, a graphic and website design consultancy based in Dublin, was responsible for creating the Print Irish logo. The firm, which was founded in 1994 and is located at 19 Magennis Place in Dublin 2, has in-house expertise across graphic design, printing, branding, marketing and web design.[1][2]
The Print Irish logo was designed in 2008. Dara Creative’s portfolio includes logo design work for a range of Irish clients, and the consultancy has been recognised for its design output, including winning awards at the Irish Print Awards and the Irish Design Effectiveness Awards (IDEA).[1]
Meaning and Symbolism
The mark was created to reflect the company’s manufacturing operations in Ireland, using a clean, modern typographic approach.
Typography and Design
The Print Irish identity relies on straightforward typography rather than an illustrative emblem. Dara Creative has demonstrated a preference for modern, accessible typefaces in its other brand identity work, such as the Dublin Chamber of Commerce rebrand, which used the lower case Avenir font for its modern, round letterforms.[3] However, the specific typeface used in the Print Irish logo has not been officially documented.
