AIB S.A. is a Polish manufacturer of insulation solutions, seals and butyl-based products for the construction industry, founded in 1992 by three chemists in Knurów, Silesia.[1] The company rebranded in June 2021, introducing a new logotype and a sister brand, +AIB, focused on butyl technology.[2]

Design and History

AIB introduced its refreshed visual identity in 2021. The new mark consists of a red signet enclosed in a geometric square formed by lines of varying thickness, paired with a black logotype in a simple, modern letterform.[2] The company stated that the previous sign no longer reflected the scale and character of its business, which had expanded with a new production facility opened that same year.[2]

The companion brand +AIB uses a logotype closely consistent with the parent mark but adds a “+” sign. According to the company, this symbolically references the properties of butyl, sometimes called an “ever-living glue,” which “adds” by bonding two layers together for higher insulation performance.[2]

Meaning and Symbolism

The red color, retained from the previous identity, is associated with the AIB brand and evokes warmth, referencing the nature of the company’s insulation products and its operating motto “Chemistry between us.”[2] The varying line thicknesses in the square signet are described as a reference to sealing.[2]

Typography and Design

The 2021 logotype uses a simple, modern sans-serif letterform in black, described by the company as part of a broader trend toward simplifying visual identity elements.[2] No specific typeface name or designer attribution for the 2021 rebrand has been publicly documented.
