Meacham Companies was a family-owned heating, cooling and energy services business based in Charlton, Massachusetts, operated by Mark and Sue Meacham from 1986 onward.[1] The company operated under the name Meacham Heating, Cooling & Energy Solutions before a 2016 rebranding into three national franchise brands: One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing and Mister Sparky.[2]

Design and History

No verifiable documentation has been found confirming that Robert P. Gersin designed a logo for Meacham Companies in 1969, nor that such a mark ever existed. The company itself was not established until 1986, when Mark E. Meacham, Inc. was registered in Massachusetts.[3] The 1969 date attributed to a Meacham Companies logo in some sources does not align with the company’s documented founding date.

Robert P. Gersin was a real industrial designer who founded Robert P. Gersin Associates Inc. in 1959, and the firm did produce corporate identity programs for clients including Simon Enterprises, Hackensack Medical Center and the Jamaican government.[4] However, no record connects Gersin or his firm to any Meacham-branded business.

In April 2016, Meacham Heating, Cooling & Energy Solutions announced it was joining forces with three national home services brands, adopting their franchise identities while continuing to operate from its Charlton offices.[5] The transition was promoted locally with a parade through Charlton.[6]

Following Sue Meacham’s passing in November 2017, the Air Conditioning Contractors of America noted that she and her husband Mark had built Meacham Companies serving communities in the Greater Boston area.[7]
