BigCommerce is an open software-as-a-service ecommerce platform headquartered in Austin, Texas. In July 2025, the company launched a new parent brand called Commerce, which unifies BigCommerce with Feedonomics and Makeswift, and changed its corporate name to Commerce.com, Inc. BigCommerce continues to operate as one of the three solution brands under the Commerce umbrella.[1]
Design and History
BigCommerce’s current primary logo is a wordmark, which the company’s press center identifies as the logo to use in most cases. The identity also includes a standalone icon known as the “B” mark, described as the icon or “B version” of the logo stripped of any wordmark.[2]
In March 2016, BigCommerce rolled out a complete visual reimagining of its logo, website and product under the oversight of then-Chief Marketing Officer Alexandra Shapiro.[3] The company described the new logo as “an ode to the ‘growth chart’ used in boardrooms and offices around the world to quantify progress,” with a composition intended to convey the brand’s promise to help merchants grow “up and to the right.”[4] The 2016 rebrand also included new fonts, colors, shapes and messaging across the company’s website and control panel.[5]
In July 2025, the company introduced Commerce as its new parent brand. The Commerce visual identity uses Iris as its primary color and features a logo built around a stylised “C.”[6] The BigCommerce brand itself continues to exist as a solution under the Commerce parent company.[1]
Meaning and Symbolism
The 2016 BigCommerce logo was explicitly designed to reference a growth chart, symbolizing the company’s commitment to helping merchants scale. BigCommerce stated that the logo’s composition was “a dramatically simple” arrangement of elements conveying the brand’s promise to help merchants grow “up and to the right.”[4] The company framed the rebrand as a visual representation of its commitment to powering growth and supporting retailers in an evolving omnichannel environment.[5]
For the 2025 Commerce parent brand, the company described the new identity as “clean, digital-first, and optimised for everything from web to mobile to signage,” built around the stylised “C” mark with Iris as the primary color.[6]
