Qlik is a data analytics and integration company founded in 1993, originally under the name QuikTech, which was later changed to Qlik in its early days. The company’s visual identity has centered on a typographic wordmark with a distinctive green color that has been retained through multiple brand evolutions.
Design and History
In January 2024, Qlik unveiled a completely new brand and website following its acquisition of Talend, a data integration company. The rebrand was developed by the branding agency WANT, which guided the transition strategy and recommended that Qlik remain the corporate brand while Talend’s strengths were integrated into its product lineup. WANT modernized Qlik’s logo, preserving its core elements while giving it a fresh, dynamic look reflecting the company’s expanded capabilities. The new brand launched in January 2024.[1]
The redesigned logo features green and gray hues that mirror the integration of Qlik and Talend, echoing Talend’s circle motif to signify unity and progression.[2] According to Qlik’s official trademark documentation, the embedded symbol in the new logo represents an evolution of the previous “magnifying glass” concept and stands for complete capabilities across data integration, data quality, analytics, AI/ML, and more.[3]
The decision to retain the iconic Qlik green in the logo was informed by customer and partner research. The fresh, modern typography of the logo and its streamlined design were described by the company as a pledge to clarity and efficiency.[2]
Meaning and Symbolism
Qlik’s official brand documentation describes the green in its logo as a representation of growth and opportunity, mirroring the company’s commitment to empowering businesses through data analytics. It signifies movement, innovation, and adaptability in the data technology landscape.[2]
The logo’s green and gray color combination was designed to reflect the integration of Qlik and Talend, with the circle motif echoing Talend’s previous branding to signify unity and progression.[4]
