TIS Inc. is a Japanese IT services company headquartered in Tokyo and a core member of the TIS INTEC Group. The group’s current corporate identity, introduced in February 2021, centers on a block-formation logo mark that represents the collective expertise of its member companies.

Design and History

The TIS INTEC Group refreshed its CI logo and brand message effective February 1, 2021, ahead of a new medium-term management plan starting in April of that year. The company stated that the redesign was intended to accelerate structural transformation and the creation of new markets. The new logo was designed to express “trust” and “warmth,” reflecting the group’s goal of being a partner in solving client issues.[1]

This 2021 refresh was not the group’s first logo change. In June 2014, TIS and its group companies adopted new corporate logo marks as part of a broader initiative by parent company IT Holdings to unify and renew logos across all 51 group companies.[2] Earlier, in 2008, TIS and Intec had unveiled a corporate mark for their jointly established holding company, IT Holdings, with a concept built around “co-creation.”[3]

In July 2016, the group was reorganized under the name “TIS INTEC Group,” and member companies such as Micromates and Qualica changed their logos accordingly to align with the new group structure.[4][5]

Meaning and Symbolism

According to the group’s official brand page, the block formation of the logo evokes the image of a tightly knit team, powered forward by the different sets of expertise that each member of the TIS INTEC Group brings to the whole. The rounded corners are described as an expression of the warmth and feeling that infuses the group’s efforts to be a partner in pursuing solutions to client issues.[6]

The logo features two corporate colors: “ocean blue,” which represents the new challenges the group is constantly tackling, and “intelligent gray,” which symbolizes the solid technological foundations underpinning its business.[6] The Japanese-language brand page adds that the rounded corners express “warmth” and “emotional” qualities, while the overall mark conveys the unity of the group and a sense of momentum moving toward the future.[7]
