Dalet is a French media technology company that provides software solutions for content production, management, and distribution. Founded in 1990, the company has undergone two documented visual identity overhauls, most recently in 2020 when it introduced a new brand identity alongside its 30th anniversary.
Design and History
Dalet unveiled a new corporate logo at NAB 2011, described at the time as a “bold new look” that coincided with the launch of new Sports and Program Management solutions. The company stated the new look “symbolizes forward momentum and the importance of adapting to an ever-changing environment.” [1]
In November 2020, Dalet unveiled a comprehensive rebrand to mark its 30th anniversary. The new identity was developed by the London-based design agency Fable&Co., which worked with Dalet’s team on a strategic global rebrand. The project began with a brand workshop at Dalet’s Paris headquarters, leading to a new brand framework and the corporate tagline “Your Stories, Infinite Possibilities.” [2] [3]
The 2020 rebrand was driven by the need for greater clarity and consistency across Dalet’s product ecosystem, which had grown through multiple acquisitions over three decades. Fable&Co. created a unified brand family with distinct product identities that remained visually coherent as a set. [2]
Meaning and Symbolism
The concept behind the 2020 brand identity centered around motion, waves, and signals, visually representing Dalet’s agility, flexibility, efficiency, and speed. The design drew on the idea of signal waves traveling millions of miles in seconds to deliver content, with the fluidity of the new logo icon and the wave asset conveying a sense of effortlessness and motion. [2] [4]
Dalet described the rebrand as a “vibrant brand evolution” reflecting 30 years of industry innovation and embodying the company’s mission to help content owners craft compelling stories. The new identity was built around three stated values: trusted conversations, confident simplicity, and human connections. [5] [3]
Typography and Design
The 2020 identity system incorporated color gradients and a wave asset alongside the new logo icon, creating what Fable&Co. described as a strong sense of efficiency, effortlessness, and motion. The visual identity was formulated with modernity, simplicity, and efficiency at its core. [2]
Fable&Co. also produced a range of corporate deliverables for the rebrand, including product datasheets, PowerPoint templates, social media headers, and animated video stings and bumpers, ensuring consistency across all brand touchpoints. [2]
