Micro’s m-cro logo is a wordmark framed by a wide oval. The letters read M-CRO: a short dash takes the place of the “i” in “micro,” and a small circle sits within the open C. In one supplied version, white lettering and an outlined oval sit on black; another shows the lettering on a solid black oval against white.

Meaning and history
The US trademark description identifies the M-CRO lettering, a circle inside the C and concentric oval shapes. The registration says color is not claimed as a feature, so it does not define a protected color palette. The blue C and black-and-white treatments visible in these examples are visual features of the pictured versions, not evidence of official color specifications. The mark’s rings and letterforms are documented design elements; no symbolism is established by the cited records. (US trademark record)
Trademark filings provide a record of the name and device, rather than a sequence of announced redesigns. WIPO records list “m-cro SKATE SCOOTER” in 2000 and “m-cro” in February 2001; a device mark is listed as “Logo” the following month. Later entries include “em-cro” in 2015 and “MICRO MOBILITY” in 2018. In the United States, the M-CRO design was filed in 2019 and registered on June 9, 2020, as number 6076768. The name “micro” connects to founder Wim Ouboter’s account of a short journey to his favorite Zurich snack bar: too far to walk, but too short to take a bicycle or car. That is a name-origin story, not an explanation of the logo’s shapes. (Micro Mobility Systems; Financial Times)
Micro Mobility Systems AG is based in Küsnacht, Switzerland. Company sources date the business to 1996, while accounts give different years for the formation of the AG; the distinction makes a single founding year misleading. (Micro Mobility Systems; company history summary)
Today
This image shows the same m-cro oval wordmark, not a separate redesign: the dash, circle within the C and surrounding oval remain visible. The research identifies the registered m-cro device as Micro’s core mark in 2026. (US trademark record; Blick)
