Mentres is a Belgian property development and construction company based in Erembodegem, near Aalst. The company operates as a family business, founded by engineer Herman Uyttersprot, and is now led together with his son Bart Uyttersprot.[1]
Design and History
Mentres did not start under its current name. The company traces its roots to 1987, when Uyttersprot founded the firm Probam, a name derived from “PROject, Begeleiding, Advies en Management” (project, guidance, advice and management). In 2002, the original Probam entity continued as Makhzen, focusing on developing residential and office projects.[1]
From 2016, Makhzen began operating under the new name Mentres.[1] The company’s website confirms that “Mentres” is a registered trademark.[2]
The company’s own website does not provide details about the logo’s creation or its visual construction.
Meaning and Symbolism
The name Mentres itself does not appear to have a documented acronym or stated meaning on the company’s official pages. The company describes itself as a small, dedicated family team that values personal commitment, trust and respect for craftsmanship.[3]
