Flybit is the virtual asset trading platform operated by Korea Digital Exchange, a South Korea-based blockchain company founded in 2017. The brand launched in 2020 when the exchange renamed its existing Dexko service to Flybit, a name chosen to reflect the role, value, and hopeful elements of the virtual asset industry.[1]
Design and History
The original Flybit logo, introduced with the 2020 rebrand, was inspired by a dragon flying toward the sky. The company explained that the dragon has long been regarded as a bringer of good fortune, and the mark was designed to carry that meaning into the virtual asset industry.[2]
In August 2021, Flybit announced a new logo. The updated brand identity was designed to express the company’s goals of rapidly leading change in the virtual asset industry (Fast mover) while achieving stable growth and balance (Balance & Growth). The design reinterprets the initials of these two concepts into a logo intended to convey stability.[3]
Meaning and Symbolism
According to Flybit’s official announcement, the 2021 logo carries several documented symbolic elements:
- The youthful and dynamic red color conveys a message of a rising market.[3]
- The white F shape at the center of the symbol mark represents leading the industry in the rapidly changing blockchain market.[3]
- The B-shaped symbol mark, described as a simplification of a three-dimensional blockchain, expresses a sense of symmetry intended to provide visual stability.[3]
Typography and Design
For the 2021 wordmark, Flybit stated that a narrow and long font was applied, with consideration given to the default letter spacing and line spacing of the FLYBIT text, to improve readability across various device environments.[3]
