Rosati Club is an Italian nightclub brand whose visual identity was created by Milanese graphic designer Pino Tovaglia in 1969. Tovaglia (1923–1977) was a prominent figure in Italian graphic design, known for marks created for Alfa Romeo, Nebiolo, Ottagono and Flos, as well as the Lombardy Region logo designed with Bruno Munari, Bob Noorda and Roberto Sambonet in 1974–1975.[1]

Design and History

The Rosati Club symbol was designed by Pino Tovaglia in 1969, according to logo documentation compiled by the Logos & Brands archive.[2] The mark is classified as a circle-based design that uses negative space, and it is associated with the nightclub’s Italian origin.[2]

Tovaglia’s career in the late 1960s was active and varied. From 1967 to 1970 he served as art director for Pirelli, and in 1967 he designed the symbol for the RAI program RadioTelefortuna.[1] The Rosati Club mark fits within this period of his output, though detailed documentation of the commission itself is limited.

Meaning and Symbolism

Documented sources describe the Rosati Club logo as a circle-based mark employing negative space, but they do not provide an official interpretation of its symbolism.[2] Without primary documentation from the designer or the club, any specific meaning attributed to the shapes would be speculative.

Typography and Design

The logo is recorded as a circle-shaped design with negative space elements, and it is also noted as having a rectangle shape in its composition.[2] No specific typeface or letterform details for the Rosati Club wordmark are documented in the available sources.
