Komsomolgz is a Bulgarian furniture and home decor brand whose visual identity is attributed to graphic designer Stefan Kanchev. Kanchev (1915-2001) was a pioneer of graphic design in Bulgaria and created over 1,600 trademarks and logos for companies and organizations worldwide.[1]
Design and History
Kanch ev’s body of work includes some of the most recognizable Bulgarian logotypes of the 20th century, including those for TABSO (the predecessor of Balkan Airlines), the Bulgarian National Television, the Petrol brand, the Sofia Puppet Theatre, and the theatre “Sălza i smjah”.[2][3] His logos for Black Sea resorts are noted for their interwoven gulls, waves, birds, geometric figures, and minimalist hotel imagery.[2]
Kanch ev created applied graphics in an Eastern European style, producing numerous trademarks for various companies and organizations.[1] The Komsomolgz mark is part of this extensive portfolio, though specific documentation of its design process, original brief, or the exact year of creation is not available in the sources reviewed.
