Design and History

Documented visual identity materials for Lloyd Chester Associated are scarce in public archives. The agency is referenced in period trade announcements, such as a 1949 New York Times advertising column noting that Lloyd, Chester & Dillingham, Inc., handled a campaign for National Distillers Products Corporation on Gilbey’s Spey-Royal Scotch.[2] In 1951, the agency elected William S. Rayburn a vice president; he had joined the organization in 1949 from Kenyon & Eckhardt, Inc.[3]

No primary source has been located that documents a logo design for Lloyd Chester Associated by Mike Quon in 1972. Quon, born in 1947, worked as a designer and art director at advertising agencies before establishing his own design studio, Mike Quon Graphic Design, in 1972.[4] His client list included PaineWebber, NBC, CBS, American Express, The New York Times, and Club Med, among others, but no record connects him to Lloyd Chester Associated.[4]

Because the agency’s own records and visual identity materials are not publicly available, the specific appearance, colors, or typography of any Lloyd Chester Associated logo cannot be verified from available sources.
