OSC Italia is a brand name associated with the revival of O.S.C.A. (Officine Specializzate Costruzioni Automobili), the Italian automobile manufacturer founded in 1947 by the Maserati brothers Ernesto, Ettore, and Bindo after they left the company bearing their name.[1] The O.S.C.A. trademark was acquired in 2022 by Massimo Di Risio, founder of DR Automobiles Group, who announced plans to revive the historic brand.[1]

Design and History

In 2026, the O.S.C.A. brand was relaunched as part of the “Historic Italian Brands” project led by Di Risio, which also includes the revival of the Itala marque.[2] The project presented the first new O.S.C.A. model, the MT6 crossover coupe, at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola in June 2026.[3]

A European Union trademark application for “O.S.C.A ITALIA” as a figurative mark was published on July 31, 2025.[4] The application covers a broad range of goods and services, including clothing, footwear, headwear, toys, scale model vehicles, and automotive-related products and services.[5]

An earlier UK-registered trademark for O.S.C.A. (registration UK00910777126) describes the mark as containing three concentric circles, with the fanciful designation “OSCA” written in fanciful letters forming an arc around the upper part of the second circle, and a heraldic shield divided into four equal sections by two perpendicular dividing lines inside the third circle.[6]

Meaning and Symbolism

The O.S.C.A. acronym stands for Officine Specializzate Costruzioni Automobili, meaning “Specialized Automobile Construction Workshops.”[1] The brand’s heritage is rooted in the Maserati brothers’ racing DNA, a legacy that the current revival project explicitly aims to honor.[7] The heraldic shield element in the registered mark reflects the traditional Italian automotive emblem style associated with the marque’s history.
