Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, the Hyderabad-based Indian multinational pharmaceutical company, introduced its current corporate logo and visual identity on July 1, 2015. The rebranding accompanied the launch of the company’s new brand motto, “Good Health Can’t Wait,” which was designed to guide its actions across the globe.[1]
Design and History
The 2015 logo replaced the company’s earlier identity as part of a two-stage rebranding exercise. In the first phase, the corporate brand transitioned to the new identity, while the second phase applied the new identity to the company’s product packaging. The existing logo and brand identity remained in place and valid until legal, documentation and regulatory changes were complete.[1]
The objective of the rebranding was to derive a unifying, patient-centric approach to meet new challenges facing patients. Company leadership described the new identity as an expression of empathy and dynamism, reflecting the company’s focus on keeping patients at the center of everything it does.[2]
Meaning and Symbolism
The new logo incorporates a heart symbol. According to the company’s announcement, the heart depicts empathy and caring, while circles within the mark connote dynamism and responsiveness.[1][2]
Along with the new logo, the company adopted purple as its new corporate color, which it associated with creativity and wisdom.[1][2] The company described the overall identity as speaking to its constant endeavor to understand the unmet and under-met needs of patients and to take swift action to solve them.[2]
