Fenerbahce Beko is the men’s basketball branch of Turkish multi-sport club Fenerbahce, competing in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and the Türkiye Sigorta Basketbol Süper Ligi. The team has carried the Beko name since 2018, when the appliance brand became its main sponsor following the withdrawal of previous sponsor Doğuş.[1] Beko’s own partnership materials confirm that since 2019 the company has served as the main sponsor of Fenerbahce’s men’s basketball team, with its logo printed on the chest as part of the naming agreement.[2]
Design and History
The Fenerbahce Beko logo is a version of the parent Fenerbahce club crest, adapted for the basketball team. The crest follows the club’s traditional yellow and navy color scheme, which is why Turkish media consistently refer to the team as “sarı-lacivertli” (yellow-navy).[3]
The most significant documented change to the basketball logo came in May 2025. After Fenerbahce Beko won its second EuroLeague championship, defeating Monaco 81-70 in the final in Abu Dhabi, the club added a second star to its crest.[4] The previous logo had featured a single star representing the club’s first European championship, won in the 2016-17 season.[5] The club announced the update on its social media channels, stating that “the star representing our second European Championship has been engraved on our crest.”[4]
The updated logo was unveiled through an animated video, with the second star added to represent the second European title.[6] Turkish media described the change as the club “immortalizing” its second European championship by engraving the second star onto the logo.[3]
Meaning and Symbolism
The stars on the Fenerbahce Beko crest function as championship markers. The club’s own statement explained that one star was added to the crest for each European championship won.[4] The first star commemorated the 2016-17 EuroLeague title, and the second star, added in 2025, commemorates the 2024-25 championship.[5]
Beyond the stars, the crest itself is the long-standing emblem of Fenerbahce, the parent sports club founded in 1907, with its basketball section established seven years later in 1914.[7]
