The First Football League of Kosovo (Albanian: Liga e Parë e Futbollit të Kosovës) is the second tier of the Kosovar football league system, organized by the Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK).[1] For sponsorship reasons, the competition is officially known as the Raiffeisen First League of Kosovo (Albanian: Raiffeisen Liga e Parë e Kosovës).[1]
Design and History
The First Football League of Kosovo does not maintain a distinct, independently documented league emblem separate from the Football Federation of Kosovo’s visual identity. The league operates under the organizational umbrella of the FFK, which manages its competitions and official communications.[1] The FFK’s official website lists the competition as “Raiffeisen Liga e Parë” within its competition archive, alongside other FFK-run leagues.[2]
An unofficial logo for the First Football League of Kosovo has circulated in online sources, but it is not an official mark adopted by the FFK.[3] The FFK itself underwent a notable rebranding in March 2021, presenting a new federation logo designed by Kosovar artist Sali Musliu, who lives and works in Germany.[4] That new FFK mark features gold, white, and blue colors with blue dominating, the federation’s initials at the top, and six stars representing the minorities of Kosovo below.[5]
Meaning and Symbolism
Because the First Football League of Kosovo does not have its own officially documented emblem, documented symbolism applies to the parent federation’s mark rather than to a league-specific crest. The 2021 FFK logo incorporates six stars drawn from the flag of Kosovo, which represent the country’s minorities.[5] The federation’s vice president, Bakir Burri, stated at the logo’s unveiling that the mark carries “our symbols.”[6]
