Kinaxis Inc., the Ottawa-based supply chain management software company, introduced a refreshed brand identity in 2024 through a collaboration with the B2B marketing agency Silver. The project, described by Silver as “Reintroducing Kinaxis to the world,” was undertaken to help the company stand out in a crowded and visually similar supply chain software market. Silver developed new logos, a refreshed color palette, updated photography, branded icons, and new illustrations as part of the full creative refresh.[1]
Design and History
The 2024 rebrand was driven by a strategic need for differentiation. Silver’s analysis of the competitive landscape found strong visual and tonal uniformity across supply chain brands, which led to the creation of a new identity described as “warmer, more human and instantly recognisable.” The refreshed identity was rolled out globally to ensure consistency across all audiences and touchpoints.[1]
Kinaxis’s Chief Marketing Officer, Margaret Franco, commented on the outcome: “Kinaxis’s rebrand by Silver has successfully transitioned us into a future-ready leader, enhancing our market presence and aligning perfectly with our vision for innovation and sustainability in supply chain management.”[1]
Prior to the 2024 refresh, an earlier logo iteration was registered as a trademark with the description: “The mark consists of the stylized word ‘KINAXIS’ within a shaded quadrilateral.” That version did not claim color as a feature of the mark.[2]
Meaning and Symbolism
The current Kinaxis wordmark is documented through trademark filings. An Australian trademark registration for the current mark, filed in June 2024, states: “Colour is claimed as a feature of the trademark. The text ‘KINAXIS’ is in red.”[3] A parallel Hong Kong trademark filing for the same period similarly notes that “the applicant claims the colour red as an element of the trade mark.”[4]
Silver’s description of the new identity as “warmer, more human and instantly recognisable” provides the documented design intent behind the refresh, which aimed to differentiate Kinaxis from competitors while improving clarity and confidence.[1]
Typography and Design
The current logo is primarily a wordmark, with the text “KINAXIS” rendered in red as the defining visual element per trademark documentation.[3] A separate trademark application filed in late 2024 covers a version combining the KINAXIS wordmark with the tagline “Powering the world’s supply chains” and a chevron image element, indicating an evolving brand system that includes supporting lockups.[5]
Kinaxis maintains official corporate logo files for media use through its media kit page on kinaxis.com.[6]
