OPTiM Corporation (株式会社オプティム) is a Japanese technology company founded on June 8, 2000, by Shunji Sugaya while he was a student at Saga University. The company develops AI, IoT, and cloud-based services for digital transformation across industries. Its corporate motto is “We make the net as simple as breathing.” [1] [2]
OPTiM’s corporate identity is built around a typographic wordmark. The company provides logo files in several formats, including a basic logo, a two-color logo, and a monochrome print logo, with usage restricted to introducing the company or its services. [3]
Design and History
OPTiM’s in-house design team, part of the company’s promotion and design unit, handles branding and logo work for the company’s products and corporate materials. [4]
In 2020, to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary, the in-house design team created a special anniversary logo. The concept was “Stay Blue,” expressing the idea of a company that, after twenty years, still retains youthful energy and ambition for the future. The design combined a hand-drawn brush background with layered strokes, the “20th anniversary” lettering, and the tagline “Stay Blue, Stay Optimistic.” The design team deliberately avoided common anniversary-logo cliches such as ribbons, globes, or smiley faces, and instead drew on keywords including “Stay Blue” (a play on “Stay Green” meaning to stay young at heart), a lightbulb symbolizing the president’s inspiration, and the infinity symbol representing limitless possibilities. The final logo layered multiple shades of blue to add depth to the color. [5]
In February 2025, OPTiM renamed its MDM and PC management service from “Optimal Biz” to “OPTiM Biz” as part of a version 10.0 update. The service’s logo was refreshed to align with the broader “OPTiM Office DX Services” series, and the management interface was redesigned with a corporate blue-based theme to provide a consistent experience across all OPTiM services. [2] [6]
Meaning and Symbolism
Blue functions as OPTiM’s corporate color. The 2025 service rebrand explicitly cited “corporate blue” as the basis for the new UI design across OPTiM services. [6]
The 20th anniversary logo’s “Stay Blue” concept drew on the phrase “Stay Green” (stay young at heart), adapted to reflect OPTiM’s own identity. The design team described the intended tone as flexible, progressive, youthful, and lively. [5]
Typography and Design
OPTiM’s in-house design team develops logo guidelines that specify color imagery and logo pattern variations for different uses. For the 20th anniversary logo, the team created mood boards pairing the main color and font choices with pattern imagery before finalizing the design. The anniversary logo was refined through multiple revisions over roughly two weeks, with several shades of blue layered to give the color depth. [5]
