Graeme Cooper is a UK-based photographer whose visual identity was refreshed in 2012 by Manchester design agency Telling Stories. The project, which also produced a limited-edition newspaper-style publication called “Shades of Graeme,” was created to showcase Cooper’s photography and update his marketing collateral for a creative-industry audience.[1]

Design and History

In 2012, Telling Stories was asked to refresh Cooper’s identity and marketing materials. As part of the brief, the agency developed a vehicle capable of getting Cooper’s message out to what it described as “the notoriously critical creative industry.”[1] Telling Stories had a long-standing relationship with Cooper, described as a long-term collaborator of the agency.[2]

For the identity itself, Telling Stories designed a monogram logo based on Cooper’s initials.[1][2] The agency also developed a simple linear website for the photographer, produced in collaboration with digital consultancy Modern English.[1][2]

Meaning and Symbolism

The monogram logo uses Cooper’s initials as its core element, creating a personal mark tied directly to the photographer’s name rather than an abstract symbol.[1][2] No further documented symbolism or color meaning has been published for the mark.
