PicPay is a Brazilian fintech and digital bank founded in 2012 in Vitória, Espírito Santo, by three entrepreneurs. The company began as a mobile payment platform offering instant peer-to-peer transfers and QR code payments, later expanding into a full digital bank with accounts, cards, credit, investments and insurance. In 2015, PicPay was acquired by Banco Original and subsequently became a spin-off under the direct control of the J&F Group in 2017. The company completed its IPO on Nasdaq in January 2026 under the symbol PICS. [1]
Design and History
The PicPay logo is a typographic wordmark rendered in bright green. The full version sets the word “PicPay” in large sans-serif capital letters. Both letter P’s feature a square cutout in the upper left corner, giving the letterforms a distinctive and easily recognizable appearance. The dot over the letter i is drawn as a square outline with a small square inside. A separate brand icon consists of the first letter P combined with a similar square outlined element in the upper right portion. [2]
PicPay’s official website uses the logo file at picpay.com/static/images/PicPay-02.svg, confirming the current wordmark as the primary brand asset. [3]
In 2024, PicPay announced a major redesign of its mobile application, updating areas such as Home, Menu, Profile, Search and Notifications. The company stated that the redesign was not merely aesthetic but aimed to improve how customers interact with their finances, offering a 360-degree view of their financial situation upon opening the app. The new visual identity was rolled out gradually to all users. [4] [5]
In 2023, PicPay launched a new brand campaign developed by Publicis Brasil with the tagline “Sua vida com mais pique” (“Your life with more energy”). The campaign marked a repositioning of the company as a complete financial ecosystem and its return to open television advertising. While the campaign introduced a new brand message, no visual change to the logo itself was documented in the campaign materials. [6]
Meaning and Symbolism
The PicPay logo is executed in a bright green color. The company’s green identity has been noted in media coverage as a factor in its potential sponsorship interest in the Palmeiras football club, since both the club and the PicPay logo share the color green in their visual identities. [7]
The square cutouts in the letter P’s and the square dot over the letter i give the wordmark a geometric, distinctive character that sets it apart from a conventional sans-serif treatment. [2]
Typography and Design
The PicPay wordmark uses a custom sans-serif letterform with distinctive geometric modifications, including the square cutouts in the P’s and the square-shaped dot over the i. The design scales cleanly from small app icons to larger brand applications. [2]
For its website and digital products, PicPay uses the BRSonoma typeface family, along with Montserrat for certain text elements, as observed in the site’s font files. [8]
