Meaning and history
Love Stories is an Amsterdam lingerie brand founded by Marloes Hoedeman in 2013. Its identity centers on the name itself, rather than a separate symbol or monogram. The brand describes its approach through mix-and-match lingerie and the idea that underwear can be worn as outerwear. Love Stories’ account of its history connects that approach to the brand’s founding.
Hoedeman explained the name as a wish to create “a word-of-mouth label” that builds relationships among women around the world, in an interview published in the brand’s journal. That explanation concerns the brand name; it does not assign a separate symbolic meaning to the lettering.
2013 – Today

The displayed wordmark reads “LOVE Stories” on one line. “LOVE” is uppercase, while “Stories” begins with a capital and continues in lowercase; the second word’s letters appear italic in this image. The two parts create a clear contrast in case and letterform while keeping the full name together as one wordmark.
The brand’s own history places its founding in Amsterdam in 2013, and its current site continues to present the Love Stories identity. The brand’s story describes its mix-and-match approach; Hoedeman’s interview also identifies the Love Lace bralette as her first bra design. These details provide context for the label, without changing what the wordmark visibly shows.
