Multiconsult is a Norwegian engineering and architecture consultancy with roots dating back to 1908. The company operates as Multiconsult Group ASA, a listed parent company, with Multiconsult Norge AS as its largest Norwegian subsidiary. The group employs over 3,900 specialists across infrastructure, energy, industry, urban development and mobility. [1]
Design and History
The Multiconsult name was introduced in 1974, when the engineering firm Sivilingeniørene Apeland & Mjøset AS was reorganized and the Multiconsult Foundation became its dominant owner. [2] The company’s own historical timeline confirms 1974 as the year the Multiconsult name was adopted. [3]
In 2025, EY Doberman, the Nordic design and innovation agency, redefined the brand strategy, identity and digital presence for Multiconsult Group. The redesign was documented as a comprehensive overhaul of the group’s visual communications. [4]
The current Multiconsult logo is a typographic wordmark. The mark is available in full-size and icon formats, with versions designed for both light and dark backgrounds. [5]
Typography and Design
Central to the 2025 redesign is the use of Store Norske Ja, a contemporary typeface from Skriftkompani. According to documentation of the project, the typeface’s balanced geometry and approachable character were selected to reflect Multiconsult’s commitment to both technical excellence and accessible design. [4]
The group’s brand positioning centers on the phrase “Think Beyond,” which the company describes as a way of thinking that raises sights and sees the bigger picture in its projects. [6] The group’s website uses the same language, describing how the company “builds bridges between the past and the future” and “thinks beyond.” [3]
