Vicat is a French building-materials group founded in 1853 in Vif, near Grenoble, in the Isère department, in the lineage of Louis Vicat, who invented artificial cement in 1817.[1] The group produces cement, ready-mix concrete, aggregates and related construction products under the Vicat name and several subsidiary brands.[2]
Design and History
The current Vicat logo is a triangular mark rendered in blue and white, paired with the wordmark “Vicat.”[3] The mark appears on the group’s corporate communications, vehicles and subsidiary branding.[4]
In the early 2020s, Vicat undertook a corporate website redesign that accompanied a new brand platform and graphic identity. The visual identity, described as simple and refined, was developed within the group by the agency Nouveau Monde, with the digital agency Axess applying it across the corporate site and subsidiary sites.[5]
When the group launched its subsidiary Vicat Sysnergie in January 2024, the new entity received a specific logo that “reuses the group’s symbolic codes,” according to its president Damien Rogat.[6]
Meaning and Symbolism
The group’s subsidiary Vicat Sysnergie was described as having a logo that “reuses the group’s symbolic codes,” though the specific meaning of those codes was not publicly detailed.[6]
Typography and Design
The group’s visual identity was described by its digital agency as “simple and refined,” with an emphasis on quality visuals that highlight people at the heart of the project.[5]
