Upbit is a South Korean cryptocurrency exchange operated by Dunamu, launched in October 2017. The Upbit brand identity is managed by its parent company Dunamu, which publishes official brand color specifications for the exchange on its corporate website.
Design and History
Upbit’s visual identity is documented through Dunamu’s official corporate branding pages, which list the exchange’s brand colors alongside Dunamu’s own corporate identity. The Upbit brand palette consists of three specified colors: Up Light Blue (#0062DF), Bit Blue (#023F97), and Up White (#FFFFFF). These are published on Dunamu’s official “About us” page under the company’s brand identity section.[1]
The UPBIT name is a registered trademark owned by Dunamu Inc., with a U.S. trademark registration dating to 2017, the same year the exchange launched.[2]
Since its launch, Upbit has used its logo as a central element in brand-building efforts. In January 2023, the Upbit logo appeared on the back of SSC Napoli players’ jerseys as part of an official sponsorship agreement with the Italian Serie A club.[3] In July 2024, Upbit’s investor protection center renamed its official YouTube channel to “UPto-View” and fully overhauled the channel’s logo and visual design.[3] In September 2025, Upbit completed a full homepage redesign that placed the Upbit logo at the center of the platform’s visual system, integrating the brand mark with new data-driven visual elements such as a world map and data heatmap.[3]
Meaning and Symbolism
Dunamu’s official brand documentation does not publish an explicit symbolic meaning for the Upbit logo. However, the brand’s two blue tones, Up Light Blue and Bit Blue, are formally specified as part of the identity system, suggesting a deliberate two-tone color structure within the mark.[1]
In a separate project description, design firm SWNA described the Upbit logo as expressing “Upbit’s unwavering philosophy of trust and security” when used on a trophy for Upbit’s trading league, and noted that the trophy’s gold ornament was “shaped after the Upbit app icon.”[4]
Typography and Design
Dunamu’s official brand guidelines do not publicly document the typeface used in the Upbit wordmark. The brand’s official color specifications are the only publicly documented design elements available from the parent company’s corporate site.[1]
