Zilliqa is a blockchain platform launched in 2017 that focuses on high-throughput smart contracts and, more recently, compliance infrastructure for institutional finance. Its visual identity centers on an abstract symbol and wordmark that have remained consistent since the brand’s early rebranding, even as the company’s strategic direction has evolved.
Design and History
The current Zilliqa logo was designed in 2017 as part of a rebranding effort. At the time, the company’s stated objective was to “look, feel and be like the next Ethereum,” and the rebranding task was outsourced to a freelance designer who handled the project between July and August 2017 in Singapore. The designer, Rashni Parichha, later noted that despite subsequent changes to the website, management, and internal team over more than six years, the logo she designed in 2017 remained in use. Parichha handled Zilliqa’s branding design as a freelancer for the agency Quinence in 2017. [1] [2]
In February 2022, Zilliqa announced the formation of an in-house content studio to ramp up its brand and visual identity as it rolled out new initiatives and Web3 products. The team included a Creative Director, Graphic Designer, and 3D Artist. This announcement focused on expanding the brand’s creative output rather than redesigning the core logo. [3]
Meaning and Symbolism
The Zilliqa logo features an abstract symbol paired with the brand name. No official documentation of the symbol’s specific meaning or design intent has been published by Zilliqa. The mark functions as the brand’s native identifier across its platform and communications, and the company has distributed the logo in PNG and SVG formats for community use, such as in its 2018 infographic contest. [4]
Typography and Design
The Zilliqa brand palette is documented as two colors: Teal (#0A7581) and Cyan (#4DBBBA). The teal is treated as the dominant color, with cyan serving as a supporting accent. The palette’s Pantone matches are PMS 5473 C for teal and PMS 7472 C for cyan. [5]
In 2022, the ZILHive sub-brand, Zilliqa’s ecosystem growth arm, refreshed its brand colors to reflect its role as a developer-centric platform and to remind the community of its connection to the broader Zilliqa ecosystem. This update applied to ZILHive specifically, not to the parent Zilliqa logo. [6]
