Greenliant Systems is an American manufacturer of NAND flash memory-based solid state storage and controller semiconductors for embedded systems and data center products. The company was founded by Bing Yeh in 2010 and is headquartered in Santa Clara, California, with offices in North America, Europe and Asia.[1]
Design and History
Greenliant Systems was founded in April 2010 by Bing Yeh, former chairman and CEO of Silicon Storage Technology (SST), along with other former SST executives. In May 2010, Greenliant acquired the NANDrive, NAND Controller and Specialty Flash Memory assets of SST from Microchip Technology for an estimated $23.6 million.[1]
The Greenliant logo symbolizes a multi-chip module with an energy-efficient core, and the name represents “green and reliable.”[1] The company has maintained a consistent brand identity since its founding, with the Greenliant logo registered as a trademark of Greenliant Systems.[2]
Meaning and Symbolism
The logo’s design references a multi-chip module, a core concept in the company’s solid-state storage products, with an emphasis on an energy-efficient core. This visual identity aligns with the company’s stated mission to develop energy-efficient, highly reliable and secure solid-state storage solutions.[3] The name “Greenliant” itself combines the concepts of green and reliable, reflecting the company’s positioning in the semiconductor industry.[1]
