Nexon Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-founded online game developer and publisher, established in 1994 and now headquartered in Tokyo. The company’s current corporate logo, in use since 2009, pairs a geometric symbol mark with a wordmark reading “NEXON.”[1]
Design and History
Nexon’s earlier logo, used from 1994 to 2009, was replaced by the current mark in 2009.[2] The current logo consists of an abstract symbol rendered in blue, green, yellow/gold and black, paired with the “NEXON” wordmark.[3] The symbol is composed of several quadrilaterals, including one triangle and irregular parallelograms or trapezia, with some quadrilaterals juxtaposed, joined or intersecting.[3]
In 2014, when the subsidiary GameHi was renamed Nexon GT, the new corporate identity used the Nexon company logo and font to maintain consistency with the parent brand, while prominently displaying the letters “GT” to reflect the subsidiary’s own identity.[4]
For Nexon’s 30th anniversary in 2024, the company’s brand design team developed a commemorative logo. The team decided against using specific game IP elements, fearing the result would look like a logo for a particular title rather than the company. Instead, they drew on the pixel, the minimum unit of graphics, to reference Nexon’s identity as the developer of the world’s first internet graphical online game. The anniversary logo also incorporated the CI logotype, with the letters E and O transformed into the number 30.[5]
Meaning and Symbolism
Documented symbolism for the current Nexon corporate logo is limited. However, the Nexon Museum, which rebranded from the Nexon Computer Museum in 2026, introduced a new logo that reinterprets the core elements of the Nexon CI in a three-dimensional way. The design symbolizes the intersection of the real and virtual worlds and takes the form of a “door” or “gateway” leading into the museum, representing the start of a new adventure beyond everyday life.[6][7]
