One Media is a name associated with several distinct Philippine broadcasting entities, making it difficult to attribute a single visual identity to the brand without additional context. The most prominent use of the name was for a television channel formerly known as Global News Network (GNN).
Design and History
One Media Network was a news and infotainment television channel based in the Philippines, owned by Global Satellite Technology Services, the operator of G Sat Direct TV.[1] On February 1, 2019, as part of the channel’s restructure, GNN was rebranded as One Media Network.[2] The rebranding was reportedly done to avoid confusion with One Network Media Group, owned by MediaQuest Holdings and Cignal TV.[3]
On May 1, 2021, One Media was reverted to GNN under its new name, Golden Nation Network.[1] The One Media branding was therefore a temporary identity used for approximately two years.
Separately, Advanced Media Broadcasting System, Inc. was also known as One Media in provinces, operating as a broadcasting company in Pasig, Philippines.[4] This entity is distinct from the One Media Network channel.
Meaning and Symbolism
One Media Network described itself as “the nation-wide satellite television station for one country, one people, and one world,” with a stated vision of peace, harmony and unity.[5] The “One” in the name reflected this unifying concept, though no documented symbolism for the logo’s visual elements has been found in available sources.
