Industria de Diseño Textil, S.A., universally known as Inditex, is the Spanish parent company of fashion brands including Zara, Massimo Dutti, Pull&Bear, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho and Zara Home. Its corporate logo is a typographic wordmark of the company name in uppercase letters.
Design and History
For most of its history as a listed company, Inditex used a red wordmark. That changed in July 2022, when the group presented a new corporate identity at its annual shareholders’ meeting in Arteixo, the first presided over by Marta Ortega as chairwoman. The new logo replaced the traditional red with black and adopted a more current and refined typography, leaving behind the red color that had accompanied the group throughout its history as a listed company. The new identity had already been introduced discreetly in the preceding months, appearing in the company’s results communications and on its corporate website. The visual update was accompanied by the slogan “Seven brands, one vision. Inditex,” framing the corporate mark as an umbrella for the group’s seven brands. [1] [2] [3]
The 2022 redesign was part of a broader renewal across Inditex’s portfolio. In the months before the parent company’s own rebrand, the group had already refreshed the identities of Stradivarius, Zara Home and Massimo Dutti. The new corporate wordmark was described by trade press as monochrome, with uppercase letters and a more modern, refined and stylized typography intended to adapt to the digital era. [4] [2]
Typography and Design
Design trade coverage reported that the new Inditex wordmark uses a typeface called Baron Rounded, designed by Fabien Baron, founder of the New York studio Baron & Baron. Baron had previously designed the 2019 Zara logo for the group’s flagship brand. The new lettering was described as a neutral black sans-serif with clearer letter structures and more compact spacing, giving the brand a more modern and elegant visual style. [5] [6]
This attribution comes from design industry reporting rather than an official Inditex statement. The company itself did not publicly name a designer or typeface for the 2022 corporate mark in the sources reviewed.
