Zara Home is the home decor and textiles brand of the Spanish Inditex group, launched in 2003. Its current logo, introduced in July 2023, is a typographic wordmark that deliberately aligns the brand with its parent chain Zara. The mark uses the same typography as the Zara logo introduced in 2019, designed by French creative director Fabien Baron.[1]
Design and History
Zara Home operated as an independent chain within Inditex until March 2019, when it was operationally integrated into Zara, with both brands reporting financial results jointly.[2] The 2023 logo change was a logical step in this trajectory, unifying the visual identity of the home chain with its parent brand.[2]
The new Zara Home logo was applied to the brand’s website and social media channels in July 2023.[1] It adopts the same typographic style as the Zara wordmark, which itself represented the second corporate image change in Zara’s history since its founding in 1975. The Zara logo had previously been updated in 2010 with letters slightly spaced apart.[2]
Meaning and Symbolism
The 2023 Zara Home logo uses a Roman typeface with serifs, rounded shapes, and some overlapping of the capital letters as they link together.[2] The design intent was to bring Zara Home’s visual identity closer to that of Zara, using the same style and typography.[2] The change reflects a broader strategy under Inditex’s current leadership to refresh the identities of its various brands.[3]
Typography and Design
The Zara Home wordmark shares its typography with the Zara logo created by Fabien Baron, a French photographer, producer, and art director who has worked on multiple projects for Inditex.[3] The Zara typography was introduced in 2019 and marked the second change to Zara’s corporate image since the brand’s founding.[1]
Separately, in 2021, Zara Home commissioned a custom typeface family from Extratype, the studio led by Spanish type designer Íñigo Jerez. That project produced a variable font system with 70 variants across five subfamilies, designed to give the brand a flexible typographic voice across online and offline media.[4] This typeface system is distinct from the logo wordmark itself.
