NK Krško Posavje is a Slovenian football club from the town of Krško, formed in July 2023 through the merger of NK Krško and NK Posavje Krško.[1] The club currently competes in the Slovenian Second League (2. SNL).[2]
Design and History
The current crest was introduced in October 2023, following the merger of the two clubs. The new emblem was designed by graphic designer Miloš Radosavljević and is based on the previous NK Krško mark.[3]
The crest takes the form of a Formigot shield. Its green field carries three white vertical stripes, described as symbols of three important transformations in the club’s history. A dark green band with the club’s new name forms the central part of the shield. Two shades of green are used: the dark green connects to the previous symbol, while the light green is said to represent freshness, drive and vision.[3]
At the top of the crest rises the silhouette of the reactor building of the Krško Nuclear Power Plant (NEK), described as a recognizable symbol of the town. The year 1922 appears within the dome, referencing the club’s long football history in Krško.[3]
Meaning and Symbolism
The three white vertical stripes on the green field are documented as symbols of three important transformations in the club’s history. The two-tone green palette carries specific meaning: dark green as a link to the previous club symbol, and light green representing freshness, drive and vision. The reactor building silhouette references the Krško Nuclear Power Plant, a landmark of the town, while the year 1922 in the dome honors the origins of football in Krško.[3]
