ReddCoin (RDD) is a cryptocurrency designed for social media tipping and micro-transactions, positioning itself as “The Social Currency.”[1] The project’s visual identity has gone through two distinct phases: an original community-chosen mark and a later rebrand under the shortened name “Redd.”
Design and History
The original ReddCoin logo was selected through a community-choice contest, as documented on the official logo file hosted by Wikipedia.[2] The project also ran a logo design contest on 99designs, where the brief described the coin as connecting social media platforms like Reddit, Facebook, and Twitter, and asked for a logo about “the harmony between social media websites.”[3]
Later, the project rebranded from “Reddcoin” to “Redd.” According to the official brand guidelines published on Redd.Love, the rebrand was a “conscious effort to reposition themselves towards a more consumer friendly, front-facing user base.”[4] The guidelines state that the new Redd logos would be used “for all future aspects of the project including all marketing materials, products, and services.”[4]
Meaning and Symbolism
Brandfetch, which aggregates brand asset information, states that “Redd is committed to inclusivity and community, symbolized by its logo that represents support and unity.”[5] The official brand guidelines describe the project’s messaging as “Redd is everyone,” “Redd is everywhere,” and “Redd is community.”[4]
Typography and Design
The official Redd brand guidelines specify a defined typography system. The Goldplay typeface is used primarily for the logo and major taglines, with Goldplay SemiBold specified for the logo itself and Goldplay Medium for taglines. Rubik is used for main headings, and Roboto for general body text.[4]
The guidelines also document the primary brand colors used in the Redd logo and marketing materials, with HTML, RGB, CMYK, and Pantone specifications for each:
- Dark Blue: #008FC5, Pantone 640 C
- Light Blue: #00AEEF, Pantone Process Cyan C
- Dark Orange: #FDBB30, Pantone 1235 C

These colors are described as “the primary colors used in the Redd logo and also as accents within various marketing materials.”[4]
