Design and History
In July 2024, the Nottingham Panthers announced a refresh of their logos, described by the club as “our refreshed logos.”[3] The announcement, titled “Nottingham Panthers Evolved,” outlined how the refreshed identity would be applied across the club’s jerseys for the 2024-25 season. The main logo, featuring the team name, is displayed on the home and alternate jerseys and is considered the club’s primary logo. The away jerseys for the 2024-25 season feature the name of the city on the crest instead.[3]
The club has a documented history of jersey colour changes. The original Panthers wore black and white. When the club reformed in 1980, the black and white colours were revived with a gold lining added to the jerseys. Red was added to the colour scheme in 1996, and in the 2001-02 season the club’s colour scheme changed to black and gold.[4] The club continues to reference black and gold in its current communications, such as in the announcement of a player returning “next season in black and gold.”[5]
In March 2025, the club unveiled retro jerseys described as “stunning black jerseys, with red and gold trim and the Dare To Enter logo,” a reference to a historical Panthers logo.[6] The 2024-25 home and alternate jerseys also feature the adopted flag of Nottinghamshire on the front of the collar and a badge on the shoulder commemorating the 25th anniversary of the National Ice Centre/Motorpoint Arena.[7]
