Qatar Sports Club, commonly known as Qatar SC or Al Qatrawi, is a Doha-based club competing in the Qatar Stars League. The club unveiled a new logo in July 2025, adopting it officially for the 2025-2026 football season after receiving approval from the Qatar Stars League Foundation.[1][2]
Design and History
The current Qatar SC crest is a simplified shield in bright yellow containing a black outline map of Qatar at its center.[3] The redesign removed the football graphic and text elements that appeared in the previous version, leaving only the map as the central motif.[1] The club retained its traditional yellow and black color scheme in the update.[2]
The new identity was announced on July 15, 2025, under the slogan “a solid legacy and a renewed identity” (إرث راسخ وهوية متجددة).[2] The club revealed the visual identity through a video posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, which also highlighted the club’s history and development.[3] The launch was part of a broader development strategy covering institutional and sporting aspects, with the new crest applied across all platforms and activities, including the team’s official kit for the new season.[3]
Meaning and Symbolism
The bright yellow shield in the new crest is described by the club as symbolizing strength and stability, while the black map of Qatar inside it signifies loyalty and national pride.[3][4] The inclusion of the Qatar map was intended to emphasize the club’s connection to its national roots.[1]
