Eftel Limited was an Australian internet service provider and telecommunications company, established in 1999 and based in Perth.[1] The company operated until its business unit was closed down in 2022, following its earlier acquisition by the M2 Group in 2013.[1] The Eftel brand identity is no longer in active use, though its web and mail servers continued operating after the closure.[1]
Design and History
Eftel began as an internet service provider in Perth in 2000, after the company formerly known as Datafast Telecommunications Ltd changed its name to Eftel Limited.[1] The company expanded through acquisitions, including the specialist broadband provider aaNet in 2006, before being acquired by rival M2 Group for approximately $44.1 million in 2013.[1]
Documented visual evidence of the Eftel logo is limited. A stock photograph shows the Eftel Limited logo displayed on a smartphone, confirming the brand mark was used on digital interfaces.[2] The company’s official website was registered at eftel.com, and its retail operations were later hosted at eftelretail.com.[3]
Following the M2 acquisition, Eftel operated as a brand within the M2 group alongside other former subsidiaries such as aaNet and ClubTelco.[1] The brand ceased operations as of September 1, 2022, with customers directed to sister brands for continued service.[4]
Meaning and Symbolism
No official documentation has been located that describes the intended meaning or symbolism of the Eftel logo. The company’s motto was recorded as “Anything’s Possible,” which appeared in some brand materials.[5] However, no source confirms a direct connection between this motto and the visual design of the logo itself.
