Gildan Logo PNG
Gildan’s identity includes a standalone wordmark and a separate corporate lockup. The company’s media-assets page describes the corporate logo as the Gildan name with a cube beside it, and provides a distinct Gildan brand-product logo. Gildan’s media resources show these as separate identity assets.
Gildan Activewear Inc. traces its corporate roots to Montreal clothing maker Harley Inc., founded in 1946. In 1984, the company acquired a circular-knit mill and named the knitting business Gildan Textiles Inc.; it was incorporated that year as Textiles Gildan Inc. The company says the name Gildan combines the names of two salesmen. Its 2003 annual information report records the change to Gildan Activewear Inc. in March 1995. The company’s history and annual information report provide these milestones.
Meaning and history

The archive groups the wordmark artwork into several stages. Across the examples, the lettering remains uppercase, while the weight, color and treatment of the graphic elements vary. The date labels below identify the archive’s groupings, not independently documented redesign dates.
1984 – 1994

This artwork has a dense, dark treatment: heavy uppercase letters sit beside a square device, and a long horizontal rule runs beneath the word. It is visually unlike the open blue lettering in the later examples.
1994 – 2001

Here the wordmark is blue, with broad, open letters. A pale line cuts across the lettering and extends beyond both ends of the word, while a rounded element appears within the “A.” The visual differs from the dark, underlined treatment shown in the preceding stage.
2011 – 2015

This version retains the blue uppercase name and the pale line crossing it, but the letters appear more open and the line extends diagonally beyond the word. Gildan described blue as its main colour in a company announcement about the New Mexico Bowl; that event logo was a sponsorship mark, not a wordmark redesign. The announcement identifies both details.
2015 – Today

This archive-labeled stage shows a simpler blue wordmark, without the crossing line or square device seen in earlier examples. The image supports that visual comparison, but not a claim that this particular artwork is the current corporate logo.
Wordmark and corporate lockup

The standalone mark is an uppercase blue wordmark. The separate corporate lockup places the name beside a faceted blue cube and includes the tagline “Making Apparel Better.” Gildan’s media-assets page distinguishes its company-wide logo from the Gildan brand-product logo, so the cube lockup and standalone wordmark serve different identity roles. See the company’s media resources.
