Ice Play is a house brand of Italy’s Gilmar Group. Gilmar positions it as contemporary casualwear, distinct from its Iceberg brand, and continues to list Ice Play among its brands on its brand pages.
Meaning and history

The timeline presents two arrangements of the ICE PLAY name. In the first, the archive describes “Ice” paired with a play-button device; in the later stage, the full name appears as a wordmark. The graphic labels these stages 2017 – 2021 and 2021 – now.
2017 – 2021

This stage’s defining contrast is between the bold capital letters in “Ice” and the circular play-button device used in place of “Play.” The device gives the arrangement a pictorial element alongside the lettering, rather than spelling out the full name.
2021 – Today

Here, ICE PLAY appears in black uppercase lettering on a light background. The separate button device is absent, and “Play” is spelled out beside “Ice” on one line. Gilmar’s current brand roster includes Ice Play, while the timeline’s date label remains a label for this visual stage.
Across the two arrangements, the main change is how the name is completed: a graphic device stands for “Play” in the earlier stage, while the later wordmark uses letters for both words. The later artwork is a simple black-and-light contrast; the earlier arrangement adds a circular outline and triangle to the word element.
Gilmar’s history helps place the brand in context: the company was founded in 1959, and its Iceberg label launched in 1974. The group’s archive profile also records the discontinuation of the Ice Iceberg youth line before Ice Play followed. In 2022, FashionNetwork reported that Ice Play had a footwear production licence with Bonis.
