Lotto is the sportswear and footwear brand of Italian company Lotto Sport Italia S.p.A., based in Trevignano in the province of Treviso. The name comes from the end of the Caberlotto family surname; the family used “Caber” for an earlier ski-boot business. Lotto’s sports brand debuted in June 1973, distinct from that earlier business, as the company’s history and brand story explain.
The identity pairs an italic wordmark with a geometric emblem made from two superimposed playing fields. Lotto describes the fields as a tennis court and a football pitch, connected by a shared passion for sport and associated with respect and fair play. The emblem is also described as a double diamond or double lozenge. The wordmark’s lowercase, slanted letters give the combination a compact, forward-leaning profile.

Meaning and history

The logo appears in three visual treatments: a red emblem with a blue italic wordmark, a white emblem and wordmark on red and black blocks, and a grey treatment on a light background. These variations retain the same basic emblem-and-wordmark arrangement. The double-field interpretation is described in Lotto’s history; the double-diamond description appears in a brand profile.
A rebranding carried out from late 2015 to early 2018 organized the portfolio around the Lotto mother brand and five sub-brands. The updated mother-brand palette used Pantone Cool Gray 11 C with white, according to Il Sole 24 Ore’s report. The emblem’s form remained recognizable through this update.
1973 – 2000

This stage image shows a red double-field emblem beside a blue italic “lotto” wordmark. The strong color contrast separates the symbol from the letters while keeping them aligned as one horizontal signature. Lotto’s official history dates the sports brand’s debut to June 1973 and describes the emblem as a combination of tennis and football fields. A brand profile says the logo was created in 1973 and has undergone only slight graphic changes.
2000- 2018

Here the emblem is white inside a red square, set beside a white italic wordmark on a black bar. Compared with the earlier red-and-blue treatment, this version uses a contained symbol and a darker, more sharply divided background. The image illustrates a distinct visual treatment; its precise adoption date is not established by the cited logo-history sources.
2018 – Today

This stage returns to a grey emblem and italic wordmark on a light background, replacing the previous red, black, and white blocks with a quieter single-color treatment. The 2015–2018 rebranding used Cool Gray 11 C for the mother brand, as Il Sole 24 Ore reported. Lotto’s current history pages continue to identify the double-field emblem as central to the brand identity.
