Maison Close Logo PNG
Maison Close was a lingerie brand founded in Marseille by Nicolas Busnel. The first collection reached the market in 2006, although Busnel later said he created the brand in 2004 and began its first designs in 2006. The company’s timeline identifies Busnel as its founder.
Meaning and History

The name means “closed house”; in French, maison close is also a euphemism for a brothel. The US trademark record provides the literal translation, while French trade coverage connects the name with the brand’s erotic positioning. The two logo treatments shown here pair that name with very different compositions: a framed, ornamented design and a pared-back wordmark.
2006 – 2014

This version stacks “MAISON” and “CLOSE” in large serif capitals, enclosed by elaborate symmetrical ornament above and below. The image shows the design in gold against a dark background. A US trademark record describes a stylized version of the wording with a vine-and-leaf-like design above and below it; the record does not claim a particular colour. It was filed in 2016 and registered in 2017. Those dates document the registration, not when the design first appeared. The date range in this heading is an archive label rather than an independently established period of use.
2014 – today

This later treatment removes the frame and places “Maison Close” on one line in a serif wordmark. The image shows black lettering on white; the overview also presents the wordmark in a dark-on-light and light-on-dark treatment. The simpler composition gives the name more open space than the earlier stacked design. The heading’s date range is an archive label, not a verified redesign date. Maison Close was renamed Scandale in 2026, so this is a historical Maison Close mark, not the current brand name.
Scandale: the successor identity
On 22 July 2026, the company announced that it was changing its name to Scandale, saying it was “changing our name, not our identity.” New collections appeared under the Scandale name from mid-July. The announcement explains the transition; FashionNetwork reported that the company had acquired the Scandale brand in 2025.
