Nervos Network is an open-source blockchain project building a layered architecture for decentralized applications. Its visual identity has undergone two documented redesigns, first in 2019 and again in late 2020, with the current mark built around a geometric symbol and a grid-based brand system.
Design and History
Nervos introduced a new logo in May 2019 at the launch party for its CKB testnet, alongside the announcement of the testnet’s release.[1] The 2019 mark was described as “Logo 2.0” by the team, with the theme of “establishing connections.” Its form was explained as a two-dimensional “N” connecting two three-dimensional rectangles, symbolizing Nervos linking two layers, machines and humans, the present and the future.[2]
In December 2020, Nervos unveiled a completely new logo and brand design through an interview with Cointelegraph.[3] The team stated that, with its infrastructure becoming more complete, the rebrand was intended to help Nervos enter broader markets and resonate more strongly with diverse audiences worldwide.[3] The new identity was released after the community-led launch of the CKB mainnet “Lina” the previous year.[3]
According to the official Nervos media kit, the current primary logo is a vertical arrangement of the Nervos symbol and the Nervos wordmark. The media kit specifies that this vertical arrangement is the primary logo to be used across almost all touchpoints, and that the logo should not be edited, changed, distorted, recolored, or reconfigured. A standalone wordmark is permitted only when application of the primary logo is not possible.[4]
Meaning and Symbolism
The official media kit describes the brand identity as inspired by the “multitude of cells” in the Nervos Blockchain. The identity comprises a grid of square shapes meant to metaphorically represent the myriad possibilities available in Nervos technology, both today and into the future.[4]
For the earlier 2019 logo, the team’s stated theme was “establishing connections,” with the two-dimensional “N” linking two three-dimensional rectangles representing Nervos connecting different layers, machines and humans, and the present and future.[2]
Typography and Design
The Nervos brand color palette includes the hex code #3CC68A, a green shade recorded in brand asset databases as “Shamrock.”[5] The official media kit does not publicly document the specific typeface used for the Nervos wordmark.
