NoLimitCoin (NLC2) is a cryptocurrency designed for online gaming and fantasy sports applications, created for use on the No Limit Fantasy Sports platform.[1] The project launched in November 2016.[2]
Design and History
NoLimitCoin’s current visual identity emerged from a community-driven logo contest. The project’s original logo was considered outdated and cluttered, prompting the community to organize a design competition for a replacement.[3] A subsequent contest was announced in October 2017 with a prize of 10,000 NLC2 (approximately $1,500 at the time) for the winning submission. Contestants were told the new user interface would use a dark blue, orange and white color scheme, and were asked to keep that palette in mind when designing.[4]
After multiple rounds of community voting, the new No Limit Coin and No Limit Fantasy Sports logos were selected. Both were designed by a community member identified only as @maarten from the project’s Slack community. The project described the winning logos as “professional, sporty and simple” and a strong match for the NoLimitCoin and No Limit Fantasy Sports brands.[5]
The new logos were completed by early 2018, alongside a full overhaul of the Nolimitcoin.org website, which featured a new one-page design with fresh graphics.[6]
Meaning and Symbolism
The contest brief specified that the new logo should work within a dark blue, orange and white color scheme established for the new user interface.[4] Beyond this documented palette guidance, no official source provides a detailed explanation of the logo’s symbolic meaning or the intended significance of its individual elements.
