NuCypher is a decentralized encryption, access control and key management system (KMS) built for public blockchains, with its native token ticker NU.[1] The project was founded in 2017 and pioneered cryptographic primitives for end-to-end encrypted data sharing, including Proxy Re-Encryption and Threshold Access Control (TACo).[2] NuCypher is one of two founding teams of the Threshold Network, which hosts tBTC, TACo, Random Beacon and tUSD.[2]
Design and History
The NuCypher logo is available in PNG and SVG formats through multiple crypto logo repositories, and the mark is also distributed via the simplr-sh coin-logos CDN at sizes up to 250×250 pixels.[3][4] The logo is also offered in black and white versions for use on different backgrounds.[5]
In 2022, the NuCypher network merged with Keep Network to form the Threshold Network, finalized on January 1, 2022 with the launch of the T token.[6] The NuCypher GitHub repository notes that TACo is the latest iteration of the original NuCypher network, built by the NuCypher team, and that the repository remains named nucypher for historical reasons.[7]
Meaning and Symbolism
No official documentation from NuCypher describing the symbolism or intended meaning of its logo was located in the research. The logo is widely reproduced in blue across crypto logo repositories, but no primary source confirming an official blue color specification or its significance was found.
Typography and Design
No primary source documenting the typography, font choice, or design construction of the NuCypher logo was located. The logo is distributed as a standalone symbol in PNG and SVG formats, with black and white variants available for different background contexts.[5]
