Livepeer is a decentralized video infrastructure network that uses a permissionless GPU network for video transcoding and AI video inference.[1] Its visual identity is documented in official brand guidelines published at livepeer.org/brand, which define a logo system with three variants: a symbol, a wordmark, and a lockup combining both.[2]
Design and History
The current Livepeer identity uses a static uppercase LIVEPEER wordmark. This replaced an earlier animated lowercase “Livepeer” logo that featured a grid icon and GSAP hover effects, a change documented in a merged pull request to the Livepeer Explorer repository in early 2026.[3] The same pull request notes that the lockup format is intended for contexts where the audience may not already know the brand, while the wordmark alone is used in product UI where the brand is established.[3]
According to the official brand page, the logo system offers three variants: symbol, wordmark, and lockup. Usage rules specify that the logo should appear white on dark backgrounds and black on light backgrounds, and should never be rotated, stretched, recolored, or have effects applied.[2] Clear space must be maintained equal to the symbol width on all sides, with minimum sizes of 16px for the symbol and 24px tall for the wordmark and lockup.[2]
The symbol is designated for compact spaces such as favicons, avatars, and app icons where the brand is already known, while the lockup is recommended for partner pages, press kits, and event signage where the audience may be unfamiliar with the brand.[2]
Meaning and Symbolism
The official brand guidelines do not publish a documented symbolic meaning for the Livepeer symbol or wordmark. The guidelines focus on usage rules, color palette, and typography rather than narrative symbolism.[2]
Typography and Design
The Livepeer brand uses two licensed typefaces from Dinamo Type. Favorit Pro is the primary sans-serif typeface used for headings, body text, and UI, available in Light 300, Regular 400, Medium 500, and Bold 700 weights. Favorit Mono is used for stats, labels, and code, available in Regular 400, Medium 500, and Bold 700 weights.[2]
The brand color palette includes multiple green and blue tones, plus a greyscale range from #181818 to #FFFFFF. The official brand page lists green variants (green, green-light, green-dark, green-bright, green-subtle) and blue variants (blue, blue-light, blue-dark, blue-bright, blue-subtle), though exact hex values for the green and blue families are not published on the public brand page.[2]
